Club Weekend Away in York 2026
We’ve settled on Settlers House, York for our weekend away on 31 October. Located right in the heart of town at 125 Avon Terrace, it’s within easy walking distance of York’s shops, cafés and attractions. Standard Queen rooms are currently $165 per night, all with ensuite bathrooms, and we’re working on securing a club rate and holding a block of rooms for members. The plan is to meet in Midland and enjoy a relaxed run through to York, with a coffee stop at BP Lakes along the way. After checking in, members can explore town, visit the York Motor Museum or simply relax before we get together for dinner at Settlers House. On Sunday, members can make their own way home, with the option of travelling via Northam and stopping for lunch along the way.
At this stage we’d like to get an idea of numbers, so if you’re interested in joining us, please contact Greg via Facebook or email as soon as possible. Once accommodation numbers are confirmed, we’ll provide further details and booking information..

Club Christmas Lunch 2026
I’ve spoken to the Jolly Red Fat Man and he’s ordered up a spectacular day of weather for our Christmas lunch! For those wondering why we haven’t looked at a different location, it’s because this venue continues to tick all the boxes. It’s centrally located for members from all areas, easy to get to, and has a large grassed area with plenty of room for both us and our cars.
Lunch will likely be much the same as previous years, as that format has always worked well. The club will provide water and soft drinks. If you’d like something a little stronger, BYO is fine, but please drink responsibly.
We have now confirmed the booking, but won’t need final numbers until around mid-November, so there’s plenty of time to let me know if you’ll be attending. You can respond via the club Facebook page or by replying to the email that will be sent out to members.
Looking forward to seeing a great turnout and another fantastic day with the EH Holden family.

Ladies Day Out 2027 … and Maybe Blokes Day Too!
Alright fellas, this one’s for us… sorry ladies! While the ladies are off enjoying their annual Ladies Day next year, a few members have suggested we make the most of the day as well.
The idea is simple. After dropping the ladies off for their day out, the blokes could organise a casual run somewhere, grab a bite to eat, enjoy a pint, catch up, and then head back to collect our better halves at the end of the day.
Of course, any plans will depend on what the ladies decide to do for their event, but it’s never too early to start thinking ahead.
For now, let’s lock in Saturday, 21 August 2027 for Ladies Day, with the possibility of a Blokes Day running alongside it.
After all, we might as well make the most of the day for both sides!
